Penn State College of Agriculture, Pennsylvania Rural-Urban Leadership Program Fellows were invited to a reception at the Australian Embassy to meet with the Nuffield International Farming Scholars while attending their March Leadership Institute in Washington, D.C.

Sigma Pi

Members of the fraternity Sigma Pi and their Little Sisters presented a $25,000 check in the name of their former adviser, Robert Gimmi, to Shippensburg University Foundation Feb. 23 at a gathering at Shippen Place.
It was the first time in years that many of the brothers saw each other. The fraternity became defunct 15-20 years ago, said SU Foundation official Graham Messner.
The money will be used to establish the Robert D. Gimmi Scholarship. According to Messner, it will first go next school year to a senior in the …

SHIPPENSBURG — Shippensburg Area Middle School Principal’s 200 Mystery Motivator winners are Paige Meals, Janine Reid, Garrett Gigous, Shiloh Waddell, Randy Golden, Cole Frey, Trey Lynch, Kevin Leatherman, Megan Fogle and Bret Watson.
Every day, students in the middle school have a chance to be recognized for meeting expectations and showing good character. Students who are recognized have a chance to win the Mystery Motivator. Within a 20-day cycle, 10 students are awarded.

2013-01 Color Ft. Morris AARP Chapter Check Presentation(1)

Thomas Gsell of the Fort Morris Chapter, AARP, presents Shippensburg Public Library Director Susan Sanders with the Chapter’s $5,000 donation to the Library’s Strengthening the Cornerstone of Our Community Capital Campaign. The generous donation from the group’s Tours Fund brings the library closer to breaking ground on their expansion project. The library will place a plaque honoring the Fort Morris Chapter on a set of bookshelves in the finished facility when it’s built. Contact the library to find out how to donate to the project.

Twenty-four staff members of Shippensburg Health Care Center participated Nov. 10 in a charity fundraiser held by the Shippensburg EMS, “Walking With Jamie”. The walk benefited Jamie Clendening, a Shippensburg mother of two who became partially paralyzed after much needed surgery but then lost her ability to walk.
Shippensburg Health Care Center donated $50 per employee participant toward the fund raiser, for a total of $1,200. Shippensburg Health Care Center provides our community with an array of rehabilitation and skilled nursing services. Shippensburg Health Care Center is located …

Shippensburg Moose Lodge 2500 Governor Mark Rideout presents Shippensburg Public Library Director Susan Sanders with the Moose Lodge’s $5,000 donation to the Library’s “Strengthening the Cornerstone of Our Community” Capital Campaign.
