SHIPPENSBURG — The Shippensburg Swing Band will host a “St. Paddy’s” dance to benefit the Thought Lot Arts Center and the Shippensburg Band Young Artist Competition. The event is scheduled 7 to 9 p.m. March 15 at the Thought Lot, 37 East Garfield St. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The Swing Band, under the direction of Vicki Baker, is a part of the Shippensburg Band and has 20-plus members from all walks of life and all ages. What they have in common is the love of big band/jazz music. Their music invites you to dance the night away.

Children are invited to join in and dance in their own way. This is family entertainment from youngsters to the senior set. Great way to get some exercise and banish the “winter” blues. Wearing green is encouraged. For information go to www.shipband.org.
