Man gets no jail time for crash that killed Shippensburg woman
Jeffrey Davies, 22, was sentenced Wednesday in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas to 72 months split between wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet and on intensive probation, according to court documents.
Davies was found guilty Dec. 3, 2012, of homicide by vehicle. According to Public Opinion archives, he was charged with homicide by vehicle and aggravated assault after a Jan. 4, 2011, crash near the intersection of Lincoln Way West and Sollenberger Road that killed Kristi L. Myers, 18, Shippensburg.
Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg, had said Myers was in the rear passenger seat of a 2001 Ford Mustang driven by Davies. The vehicle was heading east in the 800 block of Lincoln Way West at a high rate of speed when Davies lost control of the vehicle on a curve. It then struck a steel pole.
Myers was pronounced dead on the scene. Another passenger was airlifted to York Hospital.
