Keck Computer Management to have grand reopening Feb. 7

SHIPPENSBURG — Keck Computer Management has announced the relocation and rebranding of its Shippensburg location.

Faced with the need to relocate in order to provide additional services, KCM will reopen in its new location six doors away at 9 W King St.

“It was important to find a location that allowed us to continue to provide stellar computer services with the amenities to move forward with having in house classes and events, in the downtown area,” said John Keck, owner.

As part of its commitment to the historic downtown district, KCM has implemented a customer rewards program. The first phase of this program is to offer a 10-percent discount on computer tuneups and repairs to anyone that shows a receipt from another downtown business.

The move will also allow for the opening of Keck Cafe, a place for individuals to stop downtown and check their email, surf the web, study, meet with friends and family, and enjoy a cup of hot coffee.

Keck Cafe will feature computers that individuals can use, free wireless internet for those that travel with laptops, a variety of snacks, Pepsi products and coffee.

“Since opening the Shippensburg branch I have wanted to include an Internet cafe. The move allows us to realize that goal, and moving forward we will add more variety to our offerings as requested by the consumer,” Keck said.

A key component to the rebranding is the utilization of wall space to allow local artists to showcase and sell their creations, dubbed the 9West Gallery.

Having a dedicated area for seating will allow KCM to offer classes to the public; the service has always been provided, but at an offsite location that did not allow for access to the general public.

“It is a truly rewarding experience in my line of work to help increase a customer’s knowledge. The opportunity to take the lessons I have learned as a technician and share them with a larger audience is an exciting prospect,” said Norm Brookens, head technician of the Shippensburg location.

On a regular basis KCM will offer a variety of classes in general and specialized computer skills. A free beginners class will serve area consumers and more advanced classes will be priced accordingly.

During the move KCM has continued to provide fee-free diagnostics, reasonably priced repair services, and affordable new and pre-owned retail items.

Keck Computer Management, Keck Cafe, and the 9West Gallery are open Monday through Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. The community is invited to a Grand Reopening Feb. 7 during regular business hours with free coffee, doughnuts, and Prizes. For more information please contact Keck Computer Management at 300-1032.
