SHIPPENSBURG — January 31 is the deadline to submit applications to participate in the 33rd annual Corn Festival, scheduled August 31, rain or shine, in downtown Shippensburg, PA.

The popular end-of-summer street fair features more than 300 vendors of handmade crafts, fabulous food, great family-friendly entertainment and crafts demonstrations.

New applicants are always welcome.

The committees that choose the vendors for each festival work hard year-round to put together a lively mix of attractions for about 30,000 visitors who attend the annual event. Their work depends on creative people with talent to share.

If you’ve got a talent you’d like to share, go to www.cornfestival.net, download an application and send it to Shippensburg Corn Festival Organization, P.O. Box 704, Shippensburg, Pa 17257-0704.

The Corn Festival is an entirely volunteer-run event that has donated more than $300,000 of its profits to local causes in the past three decades.
