Shippensburg man charged with aggravated assault in Dec. 1 shooting incident
SHIPPENSBURG TOWNSHIP — Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle, charged a 25-year-old Shippensburg man with aggravated assault and carrying a firearm without a license in a shooting incident Dec. 1.
Darrell Hill, 303 N. Fayette St., was arraigned Friday in front of Magisterial District Judge Anthony Adams. He was released on $100,000 unsecured bail.
Around 1 a.m. Dec. 1, several black males, black females, a white male, and a white female, approached the residence at 45 Sunbeam Court, Shippensburg Township, to start an altercation with a man believed to be inside the residence, police said.
Individuals inside the residence attempted to resolve the situation, but the males said that could not happen.
A chair was thrown at a first floor window, breaking the glass.
Once the glass was broken, one black male displayed a pistol and fired one shot through the window, police said. The bullet struck a 20-year-old white man in the right side torso.
The males then fled the scene.
The victim was treated at Chambersburg Hospital and later released.
