Police interviewing persons of interest in connection with Saturday shooting
SHIPPENSBURG TOWNSHIP – Police are interviewing several persons of interest in connection with a shooting incident early Saturday morning.
Trooper Steven Nesbit, Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle, said Tuesday the investigation is pending and there are several people police still need to speak with.
The incident occurred as several black males, black females, a white male and a white female approached a residence at 45 Sunbeam Court, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle.
They wanted to start an altercation with another male they believed was inside the residence, police said. Individuals inside the house attempted to resolve the situation; however, the men state it could not be resolved, police said.
During the incident, a chair was thrown at a first floor window causing the glass to break, police said.
Once the glass was broken, one of the men displayed a pistol and fired one shot through the window, police said.
The bullet struck a 20-year-old man, name withheld, in the right side torso before the individuals fled the scene, police said.
The victim was treated at Chambersburg Hospital and later released, police said.
