SHIPPENSBURG — The following area students at Shippensburg University received scholarships this fall:

Kyle Baer, son of Daniel Baer, Greencastle, and Stephanie Baer, Shippensburg: Albert W. Freeman Pre-medical Scholarship, Clarence Schock Foundation Scholarship and Highmark Scholarship. A 2012 graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School, he is majoring in biology.

- Kathleen Lay, daughter of Larry and Bonnie Lay, Newville: Floyd M. and Dorothy Heisey Mains Scholarship. She is a sophomore majoring in elementary education pre-kindergarten to grade 4.

Chandler McNew

- Chandler McNew, son of Michelle McNew of Hamilton Township: Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors Valedictorian Scholarship. A 2012 graduate of Commonwealth Connections Academy, he is majoring in economics.

Colby McNew

- Colby McNew, son of Brian and Kimberly McNew of Greene Township: John L. and Cora I. Grove Scholarship. A 2012 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, he is a business management major.

Myles Mossbrooks

- Myles Mossbrooks, son of Joe and Tina Palmisano of Southampton Township: Clarence Schock Foundation Scholarship and Richard H. Hosfeld Memorial Scholarship. A 2012 SASHS graduate, he is majoring in biotechnology.

Connor Rosenberry

Connor Rosenberry, son of Gregory and Denise Rosenberry, Fannettsburg: PSSHE Board of Governors Salutatorian Scholarship. A graduate of Fannett-Metal High School, Willow Hill, he is a business management major.

- Corry Shaffer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Shaffer, Upper Strasburg: Jack Ford Scholarship. He is a graduate student majoring in geo-environmental studies.

Jessica Torzillo

- Jessica Torzillo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Torzillo, Chambersburg: PSSHE Board of Governors Valedictorian Scholarship. A 2012 graduate of Cumberland Valley Christian School, Chambersburg, she is an English major.

- Chase Wenger, son of Mark and Tracy Wenger, Chambersburg: SU Foundation Scholarship. He is a 2012 Chambersburg Area Senior High School graduate majoring in accounting.

April Wrights

- April Wrights, daughter of Charles Wrights Jr., Chambersburg, and Gloria Wrights, Shippensburg: Clarence Schock Foundation Scholarship, Shirley Fry Fox Scholarship and Highmark Scholarship. A 2012 SASHS graduate, she is a biology major.
