SHIPPENSBURG — Southampton Township, Franklin County, is making up for canceling Trick or Treat on Tuesday because of the storm.

The township is hosting “Trick or Trunk” at the township building, 705 Municipal Drive, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Participants act as if their vehicles are their homes, and children walk from car to car.

Participants bring their children dressed for Trick or Treat and candy to give out to the little ghosts and goblins. They should arrive before 4 p.m. Adults open the trunk or hatchback of their vehicles and treat children as they make their rounds.

“We suggest that folks wanting to participate please come a little early so we don’t have a bunch of vehicles entering or exiting the lot when the children are collecting treats,” Supervisor Samuel Cressler said.

The township will not supply any treats, but is opening up its center so children have a chance to wear their costumes.

Municipal Drive is immediately off of Orrstown Road. Enter through the gate nearest to Orrstown Road and follow directions from officials to set up your vehicle.

The township wants to estimate attendance and would like families planning to attend to contact the township at http://www.southamptontownship.org/contact.us or on Facebook at Southampton Township/ Franklin County.
