Shippensburg Turkey Trot to benefit The King’s Kettle food pantry
SHIPPENSBURG — The fourth Shippensburg Turkey Trot begins at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 22 — Thanksgiving morning — in Shippensburg Memorial Park, off U.S. 11.
The King’s Kettle, Shippensburg’s food pantry, will receive all proceeds from the five-kilometer road race, where participants may run, walk or just make a contribution.
Registrations are being accepted online at http://www.timberhilltiming.com/ShipTurkeyTrot.html. Same-day registration is from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m.
The course will wind through areas of Shippensburg Area Middle and High schools and Volvo.
“It is a great way for the community to come together to kick off the holiday season, visit with neighbors and help those in need,” said Heather Swartz, co-coordinator.
Donations of nonperishable food items will also be accepted at registration.
