A Chambersburg man was taken to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center following a crash Wednesday on I-81 in Southampton Township, Cumberland County.

Police said a Lexus LX470 driven by Roberto C. Barahona, 37, of Midlothian, Va., came up behind Bruce E. Hann, 48, Chambersburg, at a high rate of speed and struck the rear end of Hann’s Ford Taurus.

Hann’s vehicle spun out of control and rolled down over an embankment. He was taken to Hershey with moderate injuries.

Police said Barahona continued north on I-81. He was located at the Roadway Motel off Exit 29 and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.

He was charged with DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, leaving the scene of the accident, and numerous traffic violations.
