SHIPPENSBURG, Monda, Jan. 23 — Members of the Shippensburg Lady Raiders joined Girl Scout Troop 80972 for a night of fun on January 9. The team spent more than an hour playing with the girls, running games, relays and activities.

Brownie Hayden McCole said that having the Lady Raiders at the team was “a lot of fun and we got really loud!”

Junior MaKayla McCartan says, ” I want to a be a basketball player like them they are awesome”. The girls laughed and learned throughout the night running relay games and trying out some of the team’s warm ups.

The team was invited to join the 40 girls of the troop in an effort to show women in leadership roles and as athletes. Troop leaders were pleased with the cooperation from the Lady Raiders and hope to be able to offer the girls additional events like this in the future.
