A Canadian-born singer-songwriter in the rock genre is coming to Shippensburg University.
On Jan. 22 at 7 p.m, the recording artist responsible for hits “Summer of ’69″ and “Cuts Like a Knife” Bryan Adams will grace the stage of the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center.
Adams, who is also a social activist, works to spread environmental awareness through his musical work and philanthropic foundation while performing over 120 concerts a year worldwide.
Adams has earned the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for devoting 30 years to the industry. Other nominations the artist has earned include an American Music Award, more than 15 Juno Awards, nominations for three Academy Awards and five Golden Globes, five ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards, and an honorable golden star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Adams has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide and continues to promote his latest “Bare Bones” album from 2010 through touring the world, one pleasurably rewarding show at a time. The versatile artist will bring his full band and beautiful Martin guitar on stage to reveal his acoustic sounds and remarkable tenor while preparing to rattle our bones next Sunday.
