SU president presents checks to fire companies

SHIPPENSBURG, Monday, Nov. 21 — Shippensburg University President Bill Ruud recently presented checks to representatives of the three Shippensburg fire companies.
Each of the companies – Cumberland Valley Hose Company, Vigilant Hose Company and West End Fire and Rescue Company – received a $10,000 check as part of contracts with the companies to provide emergency services to the university.
In addition, Vigilant Hose Company also received $5,000 toward purchase of its 2005 Emergency One Rescue Fire Engine. It is the seventh payment of the university’s 10-year commitment to support the purchase.
